When you watch the credits of a Pixar movie, why are there literally dozens of "Lighters"? Having Yves light TWO, now I know... Yves is much more than someone who puts in a Light rig and sets the shadows and color correctly: Yves is the Modeler, Texturer, Animator, and Cameraman of last resort. If something is clunky in a "final" shot, Yves fixes it. Sometimes, this takes days per scene! Yves is what we call the "Pretty Picture" guy (who also happens to do lighting).
I thought I'd better set the expectations so that any other "Lighters" who come on the project know what's included in their job description.
