I'll have to check this one out. On A:M Reports, it says there's a v14. Is that under construction?

The code split from v13 at (or immediately after) Hash Bash. So... yes, v14 is under construction. smile.gif

MFC71.dll is missing?

I believe it should.
If it doesn't you can grab it and copy it over from either your v12 directory or the Windows system folder.

Did this issue ever get fixed? The only model I would like to use and I can't because it 's black. Why? Does anyone know how to fix this? The only version that it worked in was 11. Any thing information would be great. Thanks.

Can you give us more information?
Name of the model perhaps?
Post the model so we can take a look at it?

The model can be found on the 2005 CD (Windows) I will attach it.

I suspect there's a problem in A:M's reading of the PCX files. ( I didn't know it even read PCX files)

They appear black in the PWS but if I load them into Photoshop they appear wood colored.

I changed one to a targa in PS and swapped it out with the PCX version; that does work.

did a batch convert in PS and text edit of mdl file...

One of the color maps is damaged in the original, you could fix that in a paint program.

Thanks robcat2075 I will give it a try. You've been most helpful.

Okay, here's the skinny on that... this is an older model (Version 11) and A:M at one time supported PCX files, but I believe it's been dropped or got broken over the years.

I always use either TGA or JPG files. Graphics file conversions are quite easy to do and you can use a number of freeware graphics programs to help you with batch conversions.

Good luck in all you do with A:M gsimonelli !
robcat2075
well, PCX is still listed as an import format in V13 and it did import the bump maps correctly. But the color ones came in all black.

i'll make an AMReport.

Oh... my bad... I thought support for the PCX format was dropped... I stand corrected... tongue.gif

I don't know of many people that use pcx format any more, and can't think of a reason why I would.

Legacy projects would be about the only reason I could think of for keeping them.

Actually, I first built that crate in either v4 or v5 back in a time when A:M didn't support JPGs. As I recall, PCX format was the only compressed image format supported and in those grand old days of the last century, RAM and hard drive space were commodities not to be wasted. So I edited all images as TGAs but saved them as PCXs.
