Hello all,
I am interested in doing some models for TWO, I know there was a call for models recently (for the castle I believe?) but don't know what needs to be modelled. Is there a list of props that need to be done somewhere?
I am sort of beginning/intermediate modeller, I am not new to 3d but am still learning the quirks of modelling in AM.
So, if someone can provide me with a list of things, so that maybe I could pick a few----or a better place on the forum to go to get info, that would be great.
I think it would be great to actually have some of my models in a real movie, not to mention I could use extra $$ right now ( I believe that Martin had mentioned something about some type of compensation system being in place).
I would appreciate any info/help that anyone can offer.
Thanks

Check this thread out. It has a list of models needing to be finished.

hmmm ok well that's a start....
Are there sketches or reference designs that these are to be modelled from? I went to the link that was in the Yoop castle wiki, and I only saw some external and interior castle shots.
Are there sketches for the other props/ characters?
Forgive me if I am being dense and missed something.

The Wiki is full of designs but there's probably even more stuff that has not been designed yet. Luckily, quick-hand-Alain could sketch you up something that you're interested in? Or, KenH could aim you at a particular drawing if it's something we've already talked about. What are you interested in modeling? Landscapes? Buildings? Furniture? Props? If nothing else, we're very accommodating here in TWO land.

Accomadating doesn't begin to describe TWO land. It took a little while, but my patience finally paid off and they gave me something to work on

. Talk with Alweb, Kenh, or Jandals to help you out. Believe me, there is an immense amount of work to do and it's a bit overwhelming when you first dive in.

Hmm
Well Martin, truth be told... these were the things that jumped out at me:
kitchen table
kitchen chair
cigrette holder w/ cigarette
wierd statues (????) ----not sure what you're looking for here.
I think I could turn out most of those pretty quickly, depending on the level of detail expected.
I am especially interested in the Green Monkey character, I liked the character design and think it would be great to have that in my portfolio. I think I am up to snuff, or could be....not sure if you have been following the dragon thread I have been working on in WIP.
My personal film would of course take priority, but this would be a fun side project. I figure the monkey character would be the most difficult thing. I imagine that I could probably do quite a few models, if it turns out that the others take less time than I think, and everyone likes my work. Its not like I have anything else going on currently, and could use the practice to get my modelling "chops" back.
At any rate, I haven't found another permanent job yet, and am not sure I am going to. Local tech marketplace seems to have dried up a bit. Not sure why. Hopefully, I will find something part time but if not this would be a great way to take my mind off things and perhaps springboard my way into an animation career.

The character models have been handled, Roger. I appreciate your self-confidence, and I like your dragon for a beginner, but working on TWO will force you to the next level. Can you paint? (I mean, can you do texture work?)

I haven't really done much in the way of texture painting......my guess is that I wouldn't be all that great at it.
I could try, but I haven't done texture painting since I worked in 3ds v3, all my models in AM have either been flat shaded or I grab something from the darktrees.
Maybe I should just stick to some of the simpler models, and see what you think. I am sure I could knock out the cigarette and holder pretty quickly. If you like that, then I can always do more.
I was wondering......would it be possible to submit some of my old student exercises and my current project stuff into the bootcamp? I might be interested in doing some background animation (none of the main character or complicated stuff) and would like to bypass some of the animation bootcamp if I can.
Maybe I will just stick to models til I get my film done, might be a better idea.
Let me know what you think.

I will work on the cigarette holder tonight after I get some thing accomplished with this dragon, I haven't gotten much done over the last day or so.
I will post something in WIP for TWO when I get it done, though.

OK Rodger. I've got a table and bench that will do for the kitchen already. But I do need a large fairly ornate picture frame for the hallway in the thread above (see link). Also, there'll be some kitchen appliances in the kitchen needing to be modelled.
If you can handle the corner bits great, if not, leave them out:

Ken,
Do you have a close up of the corner detail? That looks like it might be a bit beyond me, but I could take a stab at it.

I don't. It doesn't need to be a replica. Just something similar to the style. Be creative with it. You could even do it with bump/displacement maps. Like I say, if you try and find it too difficult it's not the end of the world. As long as you try. Post your progress in that thread.

Ken,
Not a problem. I didn't quite understand, I thought it had to be an exact replica. I will see what I can do with it.
Thanks
Roger
