0003424: [Net Render] Ability to launch VNC or other remote view software from node in Renderserver (willp)

Wow this is very cool. Is this a new feature to net render?
Were can I read up on how to use this?
WillP
New to 13.0d tools->options->event commands->remote view event

you have two variables available. %s = slave name (as set by messenger) and %i=ip address.

I added the following event command:

http://%s:5800

This will translate to the following for a node with ip = 192.168.5.10

http://192.168.5.10:5800

Which will bring up the java/web client for TightVNC using the defualt port that I use. Adjust as needed for your setup.

To activate: r-click on a slave name or a selection of slave names in the bottom pane of the renderserver and select "Remote View"

Will,
Thanks for the info and for adding this time saving feature in to net render. This is outstanding! I will give it a go and let you know how it goes for me.

Sorry to be a fly in the oinment here with version 13d, but it would launch for me, giving me a MFC71.DLL not found error. It suggests a reinstall, which didn't work. I also tried a reboot and reinstall with no luck. Help!

Hi Guys,

I understand that SimbointAM is included with version 13.0d. I've downloaded it and everything looks great but I'm at a loss, is there a "Load DarkTree" section in the properties panel? if not where/how do I get to it?

KenH
I'm not sure how it works. I installed it before v13. But this page might help. See the top left where Hash is mentioned...

http://www.darksim.com/

Edit: I think you just need to download darktree materials from that site and they'll work with AM.

If you have v12 installed, you'll find the necessary DLL's there...just copy them to the v13 folder.

change the attribute ina material like this:

[attachmentid=18628]

then there will be a Load Darktree item in the properties

thanx, took me a minute to relize the "duh" feature of what I was trying to do. It's great to know no matter how basic the question I can come here to get help.

Hi Just installed 13d on G5 Dual Pr and on Intel Mac Book Pro. Looks normal on G5 bad on Intel Mac Book Pro.

IPB Image It's really hard to see pink points on an orange background.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
KenH
I'd call that a red background. wink.gif What happens if you change the colours in the customise options?

Can anyone check to see if the Netrender that is installed with 13.0d (AM2006.exe) runs?

When I try to use it, it just keeps re-starting.

After I installed Net2006.exe, NR runs fine.

This is a work station computer, not a slave.

If anyone else see's it, and replies, I'll turn in a report.

Thanks,
David Dustin

It fixes it. Sorry, didn't think to look there cause I was opening the same project on both computers.

After reinstalling AM2006.exe, NR now works fine (needed to install Net2006.exe first).
A:M also works fine.
