Full Version: Hair thickness = poofiness?

I have found when I set the thickness of the hair (using a hair image) to an amount that I like... the hair gets really poofy...

It is like a time machine to the 80's.

Is this just the nature of the beast? if the hair is "thick" it sticks out more? I mean... it uniformly "poofs" out from the surface.

If I keep the thickness low, I can keep the hair close to the body... but then I have to increase density to cover everything... and also the hair image gets teeny weeny.

Hm... if it is like you say, you should try to animate the hair-thickness over length... wen it comes out of the surface, make it very thin, after that quite fast very thick and than again thin...
Does that help?
