I get the following error when opening V130a after install (Network version).
"Unable to load plug-in [C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\HXT\Terrain.hxt], The specified module could not be found."
The 'Terrain.hxt' file is in the HXT folder.
Does this mean A:M is missing a code module?

I loaded the last version and that terrain.hxt is 1/2 the size but it loaded when I transfered it to the new version

The Terain.hxt in both installs above works fine for me on an amd athlon 64, windows xp home sp2.
Try redownloading and installing one of the above installers.
If you still have a problem please submit a report to
http://www.hash.com/reportsBe sure and include your processor type and windows version.
If the .zip one above works better than the installed one let us know too.
Thanks

I've been out of loop for bit.
I just reinstalled my computer and am loading AM.
Is 13.0a a official upgrade?
(note: I see that it is)

Steffen,
Are you saying all plug-ins like Newton etc. no longer work in V13.a?
No ,they are working , but you can not see and change properties , they are locatet in the Plugin Properties from a choreographie. Only SimCloth and NewtonPhysics having some properties locatet there,as far as I know

I can install v13a without loading the cd contents. however if I try to load the content the installer hangs on the dex character. This happens on both network and AM 2006 yeti version

Shelton, yours sounds to me like a problem with the CD.
I also get the error message about Terrain.htx. However, it exists in the installation in the proper place, so it's kind of confusing. And it didn't happen with 12.0. AMD XP1700+ (1.5Ghz), Windows XP Home.

Ref: "Unable to load plug-in [C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\HXT\Terrain.hxt], The specified module could not be found."
I got the same message.
A file of that name is present on the computer at that location.
Say... why did it install in the Hash Inc\HAMR Viewer folder and not a v13 folder?

Same message here.
Also, has anyone else had problems with file backward compatibility with 13 & 13a?
I find that .mdl, .av2, and .ply files exported from 13 can not be read in earlier versions.

Troy,
Version 13 models are not compatible with anything previous.

V13 .mdl is changed, but it doesn't make sense that export formats would not be compatible.

It appears to be intentional, since the program warns you that the saved file won't be openable in the version it was created...

The EXPORT formats! Not the .MDL file!

I, too, am disappointed that v13 models are not backward compatible. I'm sure I missed the memo on A:M's move to a different".MDL" file for networking purposes, but it sure would have been nice to know before I upgraded to 13 and created 3 models before subsequent crashes led me to find out the hard way. I think I've got v13 running relatively smoothly now, but there was a lot of cursing and wasted time that would have been alleviated if I just kept working in v.12 (which works great for my purposes!).

What is your problem? Of course v13 models are "backward compatible" - which means they can load "back" (old) model formats. But V12 is not "forward compatible." What software guarantees forward compatibility? How does rumor mongering like this get started? (If you want to argue the issue, or whine about "how V13 just doesn't work," please contact me privately.)

Yes and I'm so disappointed I won't be able to run Half Life 14 on my beloved Windows 98 desktop with 128mb. A scandal I tell you, a down right scandal!
