I知 Mrs. Yoop,
And I知 lonely,
I知 lonely since they put my man away,
Ozma put him in a cage,
Someday she値l feel my rage,

I知 Mrs. Yoop
And I知 lonely,
For my husband, the giant Mr. Yoop,
Don稚 call me a witch,

This is me and my way.
I知 Mrs. Yoop,

I知 Mrs. Yoop,

I stay cooped up in this castle all day,
Won稚 you be friends,
Until the time it ends,
I have no one here to play.
I知 Mrs. Yoop,

Both or neither, depending on how well these turn out?
We still really need someone to write music for these ditties: there's going to be about ten!

Depending on how its used in the scene the chorus might not be sung/talked through by Mrs Yoop.
That doesn't mean there shouldn't be a chorus of course... specific parts of songs are often taken out to advance the story. The full song is often played either instrumentally or otherwise throughout similar scenes or in the credits.
Great to see someone with musical talent join in Robert!
I'm having a hard time reading the music though... can someone interpret?
I can somewhat read shapenotes but apparently I should have paid more attention in band.

Somebody put this in a midi or wav file pretty please.

Earth to Neils....Earth to Neils...Umm...Neils: Did you listen to my previously posted (in this thread) a capella recording? Perhaps you might have picked up that:
I REALLY REALLY REALLY CAN'T sing.
My hearing's just fine. When I listen to myself, even I know it's WRONG.
I love your instrumentation & I love your melodies & I LOOOOVVVVVEEEE your voice.
It would be better if you could make up some melody & I could try (note the word TRY) & follow it.
This is one area that I have NO-zip-nada-zero competence - but I might be mildly, slightly trainable.
Alas, there is no limit to my willingness to disgrace myself. It's what I do best.
I will also review the lyrics & see if I could "talk/sing" something in the style of Captain Kirk or Spock. Move over Will Shatner! You got competition coming!

Nancy, I can understand your apprehension. Normally singers know(and tell) their lowest- and highestkey, I hope it fits.
The idea behind singing the lyric is; The first part 'I'm Mrs.Yoop, and I'm Lonely' should be firm/assertive and a little agressive, while the following lines 'explain' the feel and tell the story.
As you can see in the picture(and hear in the song), bar 17 and 18 is played by the violin.

I will give it a try. I really really like what you've done Niels, and I can definitely hear it. But as I said before, you are dealing with a genuine "certified by the many" sub-amateur.
I will try to play it up funny (said as if I had any choice of how it's going to sound).
Ohh...anxiety is thy name.
And as for you, Dhar...Nice try.
I only do my "howling at the moon thing" when I am assured of complete anonymity, not just to preserve any last tiny shreds of self-respect , but mainly for the sake of any unsuspecting audience. I have found that it is quite stressful for listeners to have to maintain a polite straight face, when in earshot of my brand of dischordant melodious-less-ness. I can read those not so subtle signs of embarassed shock - all too well.

Oh I hope you all suffer listening to this as much I did.
This is a first & second take - I couldn't find my headphones - so I had to first sing it with the music in the background. And then I had to sing it A cappella. I have no idea if the 2nd one matches the rhythm close enough.
I have a friend who can loan me some headphones, if I can't find mine. I'm assuming you just want my voice without the background? Perhaps you can tell that the headphones are not going to help me?
Oh, but what a treat awaits you all!!
The consolation I have is that if this really gets used, then I will be happy in the fact of knowing that whoever has to animate to any portions of this - will definitely go stark raving looney-bin nutso crazy. Big time. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha.
WARNING WARNING WARNING - turn your volume down down down & close the windows. And for extra precaution, hug your loved ones tight. You'll need company for awhile to help get you thru this.
I am not responsible for any sure-to-happen divorces.

There's a definite Randy Newman vibe to your voice Niels. I wonder if your happy with the lyrics. Some of them perhaps could be improved. I'm also wondering where these songs are going to fit in to the movie. This one seems like it needs Mrs Yoop wandering round her castle doing things and looking lonely.

Ken, Ken, Ken...Haven't you caught on that Martin just likes to see me humiliate myself at every chance he provides me? He knows I'll take the bait. Old people are such easy targets...so trusting...so feeble...Yup Martin's playing "Kick the walker away from the old person", once again. He likes that even better than "Tip the Cow".
Trust me - if I sing this, the audience will hate Mrs. Yoop from the start. So much so, they'll be demanding their money back so that they can donate to the National fund we have here in the US to "Euthanize the Stupid". As a matter of fact, they're all ready lining up to get their money back.
Just to let you all know, and just to prove that I don't learn from experience, and I like to see Martin get his giggles, even at my expense...I am working on my next rendition to more closely follow what Neils has posted. (Hah! What a laugh!).
Which by the way, Niels - I like your version very very very much. It helps to hear you sing it.

Doesn't seem funny any more - just pathetic.

I don't think so. I just listened again. That's absolutely without a doubt the most annoyingly awful thing I've ever heard, even for Mrs Yoop. Wait, I take it back...I tried a cappella - even worse.
The lyrics aren't interesting enough to offset such an incompetent grating voice.

I figured Niels can mix & match to get some variation, or pick whichever version is the least awfulest.
I also have the a cappella tracks for both versions at a higher bit rate (192) - these are mixed tracks, compressed to 32. The larger files are 4.5 mb a piece.
Trust me, the higher bitrate doesn't sound any better.
