(Tin Woodman, Scarecrow, Woot)
We’re off, we’re gone,
We’re off, we’re gone, so long.
(Tin Woodman)
It’s her I’m off to see,
I can’t be late,
I’ve got a date,
Nimmie Amee waits on me,
(Tin Woodman, Scarecrow, Woot)
We’re off, we’re gone,
We’re off, we’re gone, so long.
(Scarecrow)
My straw is fresh,
I’m dressed in my best,
My hat is on straight,
My shoes fit my gait,
It’s Nimmie Amee we’re off to see.
(Tin Woodman, Scarecrow, Woot)
We’re off, we’re gone,
We’re off, we’re gone, so long.
(Woot)
Fin-al-ly,
I’m on a journey,
On an adventure,
With new friends.
It gets no better for me.
(Tin Woodman, Scarecrow, Woot)
We’re off, we’re gone,
We’re off, we’re gone, so long.
(Tin Woodman)
Make my tin castle glint,
While I am absent,
Prepare for my return,
With a new queen,
Me and Nimmie Amee.
(Tin Woodman, Scarecrow, Woot)
We’re off, we’re gone,
We’re off, we’re gone, so long.

Well, this would be the "chorus" part
(it's a march)
We’re off, we’re gone,
We’re off, we’re gone, so long,
Off at dawn, we're on the lawn, and with this good-bye song...
We're off, we're gone, we're really getting GONE....
We're off, we're gone, SO LONG!
The Windows piano version sounds quite clunky but here it is...
[attachmentid=17491]
I have something for the "verse" to go with this, but not recorded yet.

Perhaps instead of:
Off at dawn, we're on the lawn, and with this good-bye song...
it might be:
Off at dawn, the bridge is drawn, and with this good-bye song...

I agree, very awesome. Chills went up my spine.

A variation of the same song could be played (instrumental if nothing else) at a few strategic places throughout the movie. Such as each time they leave a location to get back to their adventuring.
When they leave Mrs. Yoop's castle the tempo would really pick up I'm sure!

Grab a seat and rest your feet and hear where we have roamed...

Now with music for "the verse."
[attachmentid=20660]
I just did the "Tinman" and "Scarecrow" verse but you'll get the idea.
The chorus is just the same one pasted in but I think we might tinker with the words a bit for each iteration of it.
Maybe for the last one a thousand winkies could join in:
You're off, You're gone!
It's time for you to go!...

Love it! LOVE it LOVE IT!

Thanks! I'm enjoying hammering out this song.
Anyway... I'm looking for ideas to vary the chorus:
We’re off, we’re gone,
We’re off, we’re gone, so long,
Off at dawn, the bridge is drawn, and with this good-bye song...
We're off, we're gone, we're really getting GONE....
We're off, we're gone, so long!
For example when Tinman is leaving the Servant in charge of the castle it could be
I'm off, I'm gone,
I'm off, I'm gone, so long,
Walk the dog and mow the lawn and feed my giant swan...
I'm off, I'm gone, I'm really getting GONE....
I'm off, I'm gone, so long!
things that deal with leaving home or heading on a trip or any other present matter.
it doesn't have to rhyme with "gone", it could be anything else
We’re off, we’re gone,
It's time for us to go,
[Something, something, something, some,]
No need to stop the show...
Ideas? Anyone can play here.

GO If that's the ending of the song?
How about that?
Now about this sequence _2_01 first seeing we are redoing it and I am glad this is after my scenes which are already under way I wanted to request we think about adding in my shot of the servant polishing the tinman's back. We have the tin of polish and we can also do the scene with the close up of the servant putting polish on cloth if we want.
Next can I have a try at animating some of this song I think that would be great if I could try my hand at it but if Robert would rather do this himself seeing it's his baby or maybe I could help him? anyways just wanted to show that I am willing to try.

I'm beginning to think the script on the wiki is not up to date. I remember your shot of the polishing going on and yet on the wiki it's only referred to in this line.
QUOTE
It took a lot of work getting polished and ready for a journey.
So the script on the wiki must be incorrect.
Anyway, the song is coming in right after that point. There's a shot where Tinman and Servant are picking out an axe, so the Servant is going to say
Servant: Here's your axe, sire. Will there be anything else?
Tinman:well, now that you mention it...
Make my tin castle glint,
While I'm absent...so the song starts out just as a solo by the tinman and the servant is playing along by humming bass notes.
Over the next four iterations of the chorus and verse we bring in the scarecrow and then woot and work our way out of the castle where there's the crowd of winkies who all join in singing at the end.
They're always changing setting throughout the song and not just standing on the drawbridge; that's why I'm looking some other lines to use in the chorus besides
Off at dawn, the bridge is drawn...That's the scheme.

Just need some details to make it work.

The scenes of servant polishing his back was cut. This was given too me by Martin to give me something to practise on tell I could be given something which was not cut. I like the scene and I am trying to get it back into the movie that is why I am asking to keep in mind that it's almost done and ready to be used if we think we can work it back in. So did you like my suggestion for the wording of the song?

No need to stop the show...I was thinking the mob of winkies at the end might be singing

Yes with the winkies sing that vers it does not fit I thought you wanted a 2nd vers for the tinman and servant sorry. Now just off the top of my sleepy head for the winkies?
What if we put a really funny self pun gag and have two winkies singing too each other.
scare crows sings
We’re off, we’re gone,
Tinman sings
It's time for us to go,
Winkie #1 turns to winkiew #2
We've heard the
song, it's running
long
Winkie #2 turns to winkie #1
and it's really
quite a silly song
Tinman hears there singing takes a depth breath maybe with a head shake one hand up to for head
No need to stop the show (no I don't like that one )
Alright
Alright Lets
GOend of song.
I think we need to spell out exactly what the characters are doing while they are singing and we need to get some puns and gags in there to get the people laughing. Like the lion king songs with the Farting gag lines

Just curious how this is going to work so we have a piano playing song by Robert and lyrics and simple note music sheet. Is the person that is doing the music going to take what Robert has and write and record then we add singing to it from Voice actors then once we have that we start animating?
or do we want to block this out with with your own voice recordings and put together a rough take one then edit and tweak that?
can you attach updated song and have the something, something were you want us to help I am starting to lose track were we are

This is still in the larval stage. It's not certain yet that we will even have this song in the movie.
But my notion is to create a recording that includes all the verses and choruses we intend to use. That would be enough to storyboard and animate to since the tempo wouldn't change even after we rerecord it with the actual voices.

What if the two of us confront Martin in tommorows meeting

When woot asks the chorus to wait, instead of modelling characters for all those voices, they could be behind the camera.....where Woot looks/cringes. I think it would also keep with some of the theme of some of the lines in the song which point out that a movie is being made here. Perhaps the camera could shake too at this point from the camera man being so shocked at his error.

Again, nice work. I hope it keeps at least this level of fun with the new voices of the other characters.

Guys, thats brilliant. First pass through and I have a broad smile on my face.
I'm assuming the second half of the song is in the Winkee village (or somewhere there are lots of Winkees). The music sounds like it comes from an unusual instrument. Are we going to see Winkees playing musical instruments in the streets? and are there going to be any unusual instruments?

Winkies as far as the eye can see. I think if we had about six similar but not identical winkies that would be enough to fill up the front row of any crowd scene and winkies behind them could be image mapped "hair".
This could be in winkie town, or they could be coming from the nearby fields where they were working (at dawn apparently) to prop up the agrarian economy for their tin-fisted ruler.

The beginning is a concertina played by TinServant.
After that, I'm thinking there's a parade going on to march TinWoodsman and Co. out of town. There would certainly be room for odd-looking instruments.

Do they need modeling? I think they will need to be like the one on the left - ie obviously different - as there is likely to be too much else going on to expect the audience to pick out detail.
Here is an excellent place to start:
