Anyone else have a problem with the help file installer on Windows? I got this error msg while trying to install the V13 reference file:

The file C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V11.1\master.chm could not be opened.

The Installer then closed.

I'll get that fixed. If you have have already d/l it you can run from a cmd prompt to manually extract the help file.

reference.exe /x

And select the master.chm, and save to your 13.0 folder.

You guys are working late. On a Friday, too.
WillP
Reference.exe installer listed above is now updated.

Have a good weekend!

Hmmm... I think I like the sound of that one. smile.gif

Toon style renderers take note though as this could change your renders if you are unaware.

I can't sign in to the Community under OSX and my Sign in Name doesn't seem to be saved. Anybody else having these problems?

Update Jun 12:
Well, the Community works now. However, I'm having redraw problems with docked windows. They all look fine in v12.

"Reference.exe F1 Help File Installer (51mb)" is a broken link.

Cheers,
Rusty

Whoaw whoaw whoaw whoaw whoaw.... whoaw. You say'in v13 is complete? blink.gif

A day to be remembered
luckbat
Well, they'll still fix any bugs that people submit. But the featureset is now frozen.

Congratulation to the Hash team! Keep the good work.
MattWBradbury
Was there any final optimization on v13? This render of Scifi Cityscape - Large Structure 002 took only seven minutes to render.

[attachmentid=17348]

The render I had done before took nearly 15 minutes.

luckbat
A number of people have been reporting faster renders, so it looks like some calculations must have been optimized from previous builds.

I got this message when I tried to install the Mac (OS 10.4.6) version.
I'll send it in to www.hash.com/reports)

This has been a problem lately. See this thread for more info. (substitute v13 for v12) The package receipt seems to be the problem.
MattWBradbury
Pulling a grave yard shift Will? The finished (techniqually) version is great. There doesn't seem to be any problems that I have so far encountered, but there's always bound to be a bug here and there. Thanks once again to the Hash team for pulling v13 off. You guys deserve a vacation.

Yes, that solved the problem.
Thanks Will.

I can't log on to the community either. I use Windows XP Home edition. Community hangs up the program.

how come they don't have an installer for socceres(did i spell that right?)?
luckbat
This is version 13 (Yeti). Sorcerez was version 12.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem. but I can't get the reference file to install. First this window pops up:

[attachmentid=17486]

I clicked OK, and this error message popped up:

[attachmentid=17487]

It seems to be looking for a file I don't have, because I do not own v11. I bought the Yeti CD, so I only have v12 and v13 installed. Is there something else I need to download?

I also have some other questions. What is the network installer? Is it for network rendering? How is it obtained? I haven't seen any information about it.

Thank you for your help.

PS- I just did a quick test, and I see that you folks fixed the error that I reported for v13Beta4. Decals now stay in place on 5-point patches after I make a copy. GREAT WORK GUYS!!!!!!!!!
GCharb
Network installer installs Animation Master along with Netrender, a network renderer. You need the dongle version of A:M to run it, it allows for 3 or unlimited nodes, great app!
T-Dogg
How much does it cost? I've never seen it listed.
luckbat
You have to contact Hash, Inc directly if you want to buy NetRender.
T-Dogg
Thanks for the info. I'll definitely have to look into that when I get further into animating. Some of these other computers around here could certainly make rendering a little easier.

But back to my original problem... has anybody else had problems installing the reference file? How can it be fixed?
GCharb
I had the same problem, what it did was to copy the reference file into a v11 folder, I just copied the whole thing into v13 folder and deleted the 11 one.
WillP
Reference.exe installer fixed again. I had fixed it temp on the mirror from home and forgot to update the core file.

T-Dogg
Installs just fine now. Thanks, Will!

Just installed V.13 on my PC and now my models disappear every time I click in the modeling window. Rebooted and still the same. Turned off V.13 and tried with Beta, now that is giving me the same problem too. Rebooted one more time and tried the Beta right off the bat, but still giving me the same disappearing act. mad.gif

Eric,
We have not seen that at all.

1. What type of graphics card are you using?
2. Are you using open GL?

Just to be sure, Eric, try uninstalling and reinstalling A:M again. It sounds like that last installation messed up something fundamental to A:M. be sure that no other other apps are running during the process.
Eric2575
Paul,

your suggestion is just what I did after posting. I even went into the registry just to make sure. Rebooted and tried installing again. Funny thing happened then, AM installed in about 15 seconds without giving me an option to copy the CD contents. This seemed like another error, since AM should take quite a bit longer than that to install. Just for fun, I tried opening AM, and it actually worked. I then proceeded to do the install again, and this time it did ask me to copy the CD material.

Although this really seems like a strange install, everything is working fine now. The problem I was experiencing with the models disappearing have been corrected, and the problems with Simbiont materials not rendering properly seem fixed too. Knock on wood. smile.gif
