Hi Richard,
Great News, biggrin.gif
What is upgrade option for owners of the previous version of Enhance AM? And any chance that you'll add the extra panel components (rivets etc)?
rjj
There are no upgrade options currently as the package is on offer with
25% off. We are adding more textures and materials which will be free
for people who buy now and Panel Rivets could be included. Basically,
the more people who purchase the more stuff we'll produce.

Edit:
Should I
1. copy each of the directoris to each of my render slaves
2. Create a directory on my fileserver machine with all the textures and modify the settings for each of the slaves to look in those directories for texture?

rjj
First off *ensure* a simple scene the uses plugin->abili->dented and
combiner->turbulence->fbm works OK across the farm.

Then, install the Enhance:AM combiners and texures on the server (the .trb
and .atx files). They should be installed along side the existing files so ensure
that dented.atx is in the same directory as all the AM_*.atx files and fbm.trb is
in the same directory as the AM_*.trb files.

Try this first and see how this goes.

on the server?
rjj
Yes, on the main file server. Basically, get it all working sans Enhance:AM.
Then find all the atx/trb files and copy the Enhance:AM trb/atx files there.

1st off.
plugin->abili->dented and combiner->turbulence->fbm are installed on each of the slaves by default, so it will work regardless, unless I direct the slaves to all use the same directory from the server.

Do you have Net Render installed on any of your machines?
rjj
All to need to do is to put all the Enhance:AM atx/trb files in
all the same places as current working set-up.

*** They work in the same way. ***

So wherever you find dented.atx on the network copy all the E
nhance:AM .atx there and wherever fbm.trb is located copy all
the Enhance:AM .trb files there. The way you don't have to
worry about any additional set-up.

Lets start over and please answer the numbered issues directly.
We'll start by getting Enhance AM to work on one machine.
1. Simply unpack the textures (am_textures13.zip) directly into the Animation Master's "textures" directory. So if Animation Master is installed on C: this would be "C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\textures\". I have done this
2. Simply unpack the combiners (am_combiners13.zip) directly into the Animation Master's "turbulence" directory. So if Animation Master is installed on C: this would be "C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13,0\Turbulence\". I have done this,
3. Simply unzip the materials (am_materials10.zip) directly to Animation Master's main directory (e.g "C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\EnhanceAM_Materials") ensuring that the "unpack directories option" is switched on. Then unpack the library definition file (am_library13.zip) directly to "C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\libraries" I have done this
4. Start A:M 13 Beta 4
5. Select View/libraries
6. Select All libraries from the drop down list. Enhance A:M does not show up (should it?) see attachment
[attachmentid=17292]
7. Select EnhanceAM_Library from the drop down list. Nothing shows up. see attachment.
[attachmentid=17293]
8. Should not the images of the Enhance AM textures show up? If not how do you know what they will look like.

EDIT: Here is the info from the download page
[attachmentid=17294]

I figured out why nothing was showing up in the library file.
The lbr file was empty.
I had unzipped the file to a directory on the Linux Server and for some reason the contents were:
<LIBRARY>
ProductVersion=13.04
</LIBRARY>

instead of:
[MATERIAL] Enhance_AM|Combiners|
FileName=../EnhanceAM_Materials/AMC_Blister/Rusty_Steel.mat
[ENDMATERIAL]
EDIT: There were a million lines after this that I deleted to save scrolling down.
FileName=../

OK, lets check from the ground up:

1..Add a new material. Right click on the attribute and select
Change Ttype to->Plugins->AM_Noise->fBm. If this can be added
then the textures (.atx) are installed.

3..Add a new material. Right click on the attribute and select
Change Type to->Combiner->turbulence->AM_Blister. If this
can be added combiners (.trb) are installed.

3..If you can see EnhanceAM_Library in the drop-down list
the library file (.lbr) is installed correctly.

4..If you can't see any materials the they have been unpacked to
the wrong place. Do a search for beaten_pewter.mat (do F3 on
c:\program files\hash\v13.0). Now, the important thing is that this
file should be in:

c:\program files\hash\v13.0\EnhanceAM_Materials\AM_Agate

Ensure that they haven't ended up in something like:

c:\program files\hash\v13.0\EnhanceAM_Materials\\EnhanceAM_Materials\AM_Agate

*note* I have also updated the image/notes on the download page as
the material files are now in one file.

Let me know how this goes.

Here is the way I made it work on my network.

I did not install it to my local computer, instead I copied all the directories to my server and linked the library file in AM.

Seems to work OK, but will run a test sson.

To me it makes more sense to always install the Enhance A:M files in their own directory tree, as opposed to copying them to the Program Files\Hash Inc\[version whatever] directory. That way, you can always perform a "clean install" of A:M if needed without having to re-install the Enhance A:M files again.

I've been un-zipping the files to their own subdirectories under C:\Documents and Settings\Togashi\My Documents\Hash Inc\EnhanceAMv3, and then simply pointing A:M's appropriate Options/Folders to the correct folder. As long as the EnhanceAM_Materials and libraries subdirectories are at the same level relative to each other it all works out fine. Doing it this way has the additional benefit of allowing a single copy of the actual files to be used by several versions of A:M (v11.1, v12.0, and v13.0 in my case).
