Thank you William and the rest of the Hash team!

I'm on call all weekend because of major construction on the San Francisco Bay Bridge.

Hopefully I won't get called and will have time to play with Beta 4. Wish me luck! unsure.gif

Hooray!!!! You guys fixed my problem!

I put a decal on the head model I have been working on and everything was fine. The next time I opened the model, there were two spots where the decal did not appear. These spots were at 5-point patches around the eyes. Still being a newbie of about 3 months, I just figured that I had done something wrong and kept trying to fix it with no luck. I didn't realize it was a program bug.

I installed beta4 and opened my model and the texture is now correct again! So thank you team Hash for fixing a bug I didn't even know I had!
T-Dogg
I noticed a new problem just now. I wanted to make a picture showing 2 views of my head model at the same time. Rather than do 2 renders and stick them together in a picture later, I thought I'd save time and make a copy of my head and just do one render. The copy was once again left with no decals on some of the 5-Point Patches.

I didn't want to post a picture here of my original mesh, because the texture is a photograph of my friend's face, so I did a really quick and sloppy test to show what happened.

[attachmentid=17184]

The original is on the left and the copy is on the right. For some reason, the top 2 5-point patches keep the decal, but the bottom 2 did not.

I just thought I'd make this know to you guys and see if anyone else was having similar problems.
KenH
Make sure they're flipped the right way. If they are, send the model and steps into AM:Reports....
T-Dogg
I reported it like you said, Ken.

Just to make sure it wasn't something I did, I tried the exact same thing with version 12.0v+. In version 12, everything worked as expected, so i guess this is definitely a bug.

Hey, maybe I'll see my name on the list of fixes when they release beta5. biggrin.gif

Active = ON??

Can't seem to turn objects on and off in the chor V13.0 Beta 4.

David

EDIT: Reported
KenH
Sorry (for you) to say it's working for me. It may be that it's an older project that's causing the problem...

Edit: I just took a look at the report and get the same.

Really??

When I have something off in the chor and want it to turn on at a certain time (exploding car parts), it will either be on or off but will not transition in the chor.

Yes it is an older project... but why should that matter?

Added new hair shader projects, in the top post of the thread.

Wow! I didn't even see Beta 3 go by. You guys must have some sort of programming Jennie or source fairy... something. Looks like v13 might be ready soon (I hope) biggrin.gif .

Hello,

Are reports listed somewhere public?

Niels.

ps.
Sprites have a transparency problem, as far I can tell now, this mainly in conjunction behind an other transparent object.
Also the time-driven property, are messed up when re-opening the file.

Should I setup a report...

[EDIT] Of course I'm happy with B4.

[EDIT_2nd] I've sent a report. 003200

Wow talk about a fast turn around!!

Thanks for the effort put into NR, we really appreciate it!!

David

EDIT:
After installing the V13 Beta 4+ on machines that double as work stations, then re-installing V13 Beta 4 so we could work on them, we encountered an error indicating Simcloth.atx was missing.

It happened on 2 systems ( the 3rd has not been upgraded to V13 yet).
WillP
You will have to install in separate directorys if you want both Beta 4 and Beta4+ installed. by reinstalling 4 you overwrote the dll's and plugins. Most likely a mixed install will not downgrade.

Will,
Which one should I install in the different directory,
Net Render or V13 4 Beta?

If I install NR to the different directory, and reinstall V13 Beta to the default directory, will it install the simcloth.atx file? I'm not using it for anything right now anyway.

Thanks,
David
WillP
Either way would work, you may just want to install both to a fresh folder (or delete before reintsalling) so you don't end up with the mixed from the downgrad install.

the b4+ installer does have a working simcloth.atx but may only work with b4+

I'm taking it for a spin on OSX and when I open A:M I get three "unable to load plug-in" errors: muhhair_diffuse.shd, MuHair.shd, and Kajiya-Kay.shd.

I did a search of the hard drive and these files do, indeed, live in the referenced folder.

This might have been addressed elsewhere, but my searches turned up naught. This is not a huge deal yet, as the program seems to work, otherwise, but has anyone else encountered/fixed this?

Thanks--
Mark

Ken Baer told me it affects all Mac users, and has been fixed for the next beta.

In the meantime, you can simply remove those three .shd files.

Thankee!

Hmmm - looks like an old registry installation error has crept back into the latest beta4

Clean install of beta 4 on a system with v12.0v+ installed.

Here's the library paths installed when you start up A:M v13b4:

C:\Documents and Settings\markshu\Application Data\Hash Inc\Libraries;
C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\data\Libraries;
C:\Program Files\Hash Inc.\V13.0\data\Libraries;
C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\V13.0\Libraries

The third entry is an obvious error. smile.gif
