ohmy.gif I'm working with the modeling feature and was trying to Map a sphere with an image I had. Problem was that it tiled it instead of maping it. It is on Repeat #1 but it repeates it at least 10 times. I can increase that number for it to multiply even more but I'm trying to do the oppoiste. I noticed that Material in the material folder comes as a MAT file how to I convert the Jpg into A MAT file so that it will not tile as it did? Or how can I scale the image on the surface so that it will not do what it was doing?

Sean,

An image that is used as a map for a sphere will have to have certain proportions or it will be stretched.

I will presume at this point that your application method is 'spherical' and not planar or cylinder...

Last thing, spherical mapping will create what appears to be a tiled decal image, but it's just A:Ms way of keeping seams from showing.

Here is the map I used for a quick test.
[attachmentid=16863]

Here is the result... Notice that the decal appears to have tiled... but the sphere only has one tile on it.

If you get repetition of the same image on your sphere even if the repreat is set to 1, that is probably because you used a patch image. In this case, the image is applied to every individual patch on your model. You want to use either a decal with a spherical projection on your model or a projection plugin based material with your image in it.
