I spent some time yesterday watching all four parts of Jim's face decaling tutorial and it is absolutely terrific. I'd already done such decaling work on various projects but to see some of Jim's problem-solving techniques incorporated into a seamless series of movies was really educational.
Especially helpful were his tips on creating a realistic flesh tone using blurred flecks of pale green, etc. Not what I would have expected and of course perfectly suited to create this effect. It's easy to texture lumpy green and yellow aliens but doing the realistic stuff is always trickier.
I hope this thread isn't redundant but I scrolled through three pages of threads here looking for one I could just add these comments to before I started this one.
I also ordered and received today a brand spankin' new copy of A:M for my new job (v. 12.0) and having a blast playing with it and impressing my co-workers. If Jims tutes are on the extras cd I haven't looked at it yet.
If not, here's the download site.
