I have been using A:M to teach high school students since the fall of 2000. I have had big help from some guys at Pixar. We finally have a web site that is somewhat usable and shows student work. I would like to communicate with any others teaching Animation Master, especially high school level.

Here is the web site, with improvements to come. We know that some links don't work and we are fixing that. http://www.wccusd.k12.ca.us/deanza look for the animation link on the front page. If that site seems slow, you can also try www.donsofdeanza.com The first version of "Presidents" is online., but it is nearly finished in its second, improved version. That is one of the best films so far. Its in the current, 2006 folder.

Larry,
Wow. You (and your students!) have been busy.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

I hope you find all the feedback and interest from other teachers you expect and more.

If you have students that you'd like to throw into the spotlight I know Martin Hash recently posted on showcasing them in some of their advertisements. It might go far to promote the work of some of your aspiring animators. smile.gif

Here is the link if interested:

Martin Hash can make your students famous (Assuming they aren't already of course) biggrin.gif

I for one would like to hear more of your efforts to teach A:M in the classroom.
In the meantime I'll dig in and view the animation on your site.

Best of luck to you in all your efforts.

Larry,

We get lots of requests from teachers that are tring to get A:M approved through the system. They are looking for examples of classes that are currently using A:M, and you are a perfect example. We thank you, and I am sure the teachers in need will really appreciate the time you took to share your success.

What resources do you use and what is your course plan? Do you mind sharing more?

Thanks and I hope you get what you ask for.

This is great, I wish I could have done this when I was in school. The president one is my favorite, but haven't looked at all of them, I must look at the rest. Keep up the good work teaching, some of them may be the best in years to come. Looking forward to seeing more from them.
