Full Version: Multipass or not?

I always thought that multipass makes the overall render look better. Now that I want to use a klieg with volumetrics for sun rays under water, the multipass seems to make the klieg light jitter. When multi is turned off, the jitter is gone. I don't want to give up multipass just to make one klieg light steady. I must not be understanding the whole concept right? How can I get the best render and still have a klieg light that doesn't jump around?

Eric,
I'm beginning to think you should just start a WIP where you collect all your questions.
Call it 'Eric Explores A:M' or something.

I'm getting dizzy trying to figure out where you're going to post next... biggrin.gif
Or is someone else moving your posts into all these strange places?

Others may disagree but it'd be easier to answer your questions if they were either all in the same place or on topic where they show up.

Feel free to ignore this advice.

Added: If you want to use Klieg with Multipass you can set it to 1 perhaps and get the effect you want?

Eric - assuming that you are using a Klieg and volumetrics, try adjusting the "width" down to around 1cm. Depending on the geometric set of of your scene, you may need to go even smaller. Also increasing the number of passes may help.
