I was trying out a technique I just came up with for creating radiosity with an environment. The test looked pretty good. It only took 22 minutes, but the color was oversaturated for the render, but the model was still light correctly.

Unlike the tests I've done in the past, this on actually accepts radiosity quite well. I ran the image through neat image because it has the normal grain found with high levels of jittering. I'm going to do a matte white render to get a better feel for what it can do. I'd still like to have the ability to mix AO with radiosity, but I don't know if that is an easy task to accomplish.

Here's the render I did over night. It was a quick 8 hours and 13 minute render.

The only thing is, that I noticed, that light is bouncing up onto the model from the ground at a higher intensity than it is comeing from the sky.

This method isn't working out as well as I had hoped it would. The bottom of the model is far brighter than the top, which wouldn't simulate realistic lighting with radiosity at all.

I'll try some other things.

interesting but did you have to chose that robot from invader zim...that show freaks me out...its weird-_-
MattWBradbury
Yes. I had to use Gir. It's just a great character. I also made an AO render with him.

How's this experiment going, Matt?
