Hi,
I have noticed that when I edit an action object, either by selecting the shortcut in the Chor or the action in the Action folder, after I make some modifications (say there's some breakthrough, or I've adjusted the angle of a footfall, or cleaned up keys, or whatever) the action in the Chor seems to play the old one, unless I either
1) delete the action and drop it in again or
2) save it out as a new name.
Yet, the action shows the changes I made, but doesn't "implement" them without one of those steps above.
I'm using 12.0t for Tiger and I'm just wondering why the action wouldn't update if the shortcut and the actual action shows changes.
regards,
Seana

Does this work?:
Save the project and re-open it...or
pressing the spacebar......or
closing the chor window and re-opening it?
These probably will work as it sounds like a refresh issue. One I'd like to get crushed and stamped out.

Tried the spacebar, no. Haven't tried saving and reopening the project, but I'll try the Chor window first (since if that works I can stay in the project and keep working.) It seems to me that actions used to update more easily (I could have the Chor window open, edit the action, scrub to a relevant frame and changes would show up in the Chor) in earlier versions, but perhaps I'm just nostalgic.
cheers,

It must be mass nostalgia!

Hi Ken,
Officially, the only thing that works for me is to save out the action. The Chor window doesn't work, and neither does saving and going back in.
Also, I noticed this happened:
1) most of my action objects duplicated and replaced themselves in the Chor, yet they don't exist on the machine, even though they say they are externally saved out. Eg. "pirouette1" I created, but I saved and then crashed and suddenly "pirouette12" was the one that was in the Chor. Can't find "pirouette12" with Finder, Spotlight... ghost in the machine. I've had it do this before and completely mess up path actions, constraints, etc. This time I saved a new Project and Chor, deleted my actions (that were no longer in the Chor) and saved the others out explicitly as new versions with an underscore before the number so I would know. That seems ok. Maybe this is some update thing if you open the shortcut? Some update though, it makes a new file (or something...)
2) After the skip action which was a Blend action that wouldn't (I originally had a transition to action on, but didn't like that, it wouldn't blend in and out normally, she just freaked), I created an action where she stops, looks down and scratches the back of her left leg with her right before winding up the toy bear, as some anticipation to blend out of the skip to. It was 2:15. As soon as I put the blend on it, it became as long as the Chor, though it still worked. If I tried to shorten it, it wouldn't play. So I left it.
I've added a screenshot of the project before I fixed it. But I'd like to know why it happened so I can avoid it.
Again, using 12.0t for Tiger. Ooops, didn't optimize the attachment. Kinda large for a single png, sorry-- hope you can see the menus.

Not sure about those problems. Maybe you might do some reporting to Hash about them?
