I get an mp3, go to audacity and change it from mp3 to wave. Then I put that wav file in AM. It sounds fine when I play it in AM but when I render it the sound sucks, really badly.

I'm not compressing the movie at all. I've tried a bunch of different formats.

To no avail.

I even downloaded Jahshaka and Avidemux just so I could try and put the music to the animation. But they didn't seem to work or I didn't understand them.

All I want to do is to make a movie that is viewable on a video iPod, with my 1 minute long 3D animated video and some music to go along with it.

That's all I want!!!!

Argh!!!!!!! If I had a Mac I could just use iMovie and be done with it!

Can you be more specific about what "sucks" about the sound? Is it slow? garbled? static? Is the WAV that way if you play it outside A:M?

Could you add the sound using QuickTime Player? I don't know if the "Add" feature is available in the standard player or not...

I'll try adding tonight. The sound is garbled. And as I said, the only time the sound is bad is in the final render. It sounds fine in the chor.

I couldn't find anything like an add in quicktime. But there is a lot blanked out for quicktime pro. Media maker has an acceptable interface but it turns my crisp clear movie into a blurry mess. It sounds good though. Plus it outputs to a format that itunes doesn't recognize. Bad for a video podcaster. I tried to find a coverter but everything looks suspect or costs money. Even if I do find a converter it will probably make the movie look worse.

I want iMovie. With each new obstacle I am coming to hate Windows more and more. Though it would be nice if I could figure out why AM is turning a perfectly good sounding wav file into a garbled mess.

I was able to add sound using Avid Free DV http://www.avid.com/freedv/

But I'm not sure if I'll be able to use this free version to add sound effects, dialogue, and music. Time will tell.

The result can be found here: http://robotsrobotsrobots.libsyn.com/
