Hello Smart People ... I am trying to selectively download things from the repository. Following the "SVN Walkthrough" .. Step 5 ... "Would you like to select only a portion of the repository to work on?" ...I'm afraid that I don't get that option. If I continue with it ... it appears that it starts to download everything ... Ouch! I have found that if I select the square with the three dots on it (sorry about using the technical name for it) ... that is next to the repository's URL ... it will load the repository browser which I can then get a breakdown of the repository's folders. Navigate to the specific model I want to download and then RMB on the model's name and choose "Save As" it will download correctly. I was just wondering if this is also correct? Thanks for the help. First off make sure you have the latest version of v13.
I updated the walk through's text to hopefully make it a little more clear, and I am just now adding a screen shot for where to find the repository browser. What you want is the dialog with the check boxes on it in the walkthrough.

Let us know if you have any further problems, or if you find a spot in the instructions that needs to be more clear.

Thanks
Noel

There I added a screen shot to the walkthrough.

If you want feel free to send me a screenshot of your repository browser window and what you want to get and I'll help you pick what to check.

Hiya Noel ... Thank you for the help. I knew that there was someone somewhere who knew what they were doing wink.gif I will take a look at the new instructions and let you know if I can screw even more things up. By the way I have the Version 13 Alpha installed ... Appreciate the help and the fast response ... Bruce(wedgeeguy)

No problem. Got any more A:M comic/cartoon animations planned? I really like your stuff.

Yeah! You're up and running!

Are you ready for some work?

Well, I've asked for help on this before and still am not able to get the SVN to work for me. I installed the latest "Tortoise", then AM V.13Alpha9. Downloaded the complete repository to my hard drive and wanted to add some models into the "shared" folder. From the instructions, I wasn't sure how to do that. Eventually I saved from AM to the "shared" folder on my drive. Once I did that, however, the send and receive options in the SVN pane were no longer there. I reloaded AM and then they appeared again. I pressed send and the pane with my new models appeared. I checked all and pressed ok. Once it did it's thing, a pop-up appeared asking for a password and user name. I inserted the password and user name I got from Will, but it didn't take them. So, I pressed cancel and my upload failed.

Can someone tell me where I'm screwing this up please?

Please email n o e l@hash.com with screen shots of the two dialogs under step 5 of the SVNWalkthrough. I'll try and figure out why your send button doesn't work.

Hiya Noel ... I think I'm getting the hang of things. I will let you know if I have any more problems. Again I appreciate the help. As far as another animation, I am getting close to another one being completed. It is geared towards grade school kids and it is a rap version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". So it may not be something that the "masses" might enjoy. It is just a small part of a larger project that I am working on. I will post a message when it get's completed. Thanks a lot Noel!

Paul ... Well if you are ready then I guess I am ready. I haven't played around with the dotProject stuff yet so you might have to hold my hand in the beginning. And if we come upon a hillside full of daisies along the way we can skip through them also laugh.gif Let me send you an e-mail and you can fill me in on the details of what you need ... P.S. I'm kidding about the holding hands stuff ... really!

Eric ... I hope that Noel helped you out. Sorry that I can't be much help to you. I haven't tried updating or sending anything back through SVN so you are way further ahead then I am. Hope that you get things straightened out soon.

Yep unfortunatly community signin is seperate for now. You can use the same name and password, but you need to register.
You also need to send a signin name and password to willp@hash.com so he can register a svn signin for you if he hasn't already.

Three seperate systems that haven't been made to share the same password database yet. Dotproject and the forum have been made to work together though.

I'm ok with SVN now. My trouble seems to have been the fact that the user name and passwords are case sensitive.

To sum it up:

Download the Tortoise program per TWO instructions and install. Download the latest version of AM - I believe it is AM V.13 Alpha9 and install. Make sure you contacted willp@hash.com for your password after you give him your user name.

Open AM V.13 and click "view" to open the "Community" pane. It's best to double click on the title bar to disconnect it from the main AM widow - the Alpha version still has a bug with updating when connected to the main window. At the bottom of the Community window, click the "TWO Movie" tab and hit the "Receive" button to download the repository to your hard drive. At this point, you might want to check and see if there is a way to download just the parts that you need to work with, I downloaded the whole shebang just to avoid any other issues.

After a lengthy download, SVN will let you know that it has completed. Now I opened the model I was working on, right clicked in the model window and picked "save as". Now direct the model to the shared folder in the downloaded TWO repository - in my case - F:\TWO data\data\Shared Data\Models\Props

Once saved there, you are now ready to upload the changed data to the SVN server. Go back to the TWO Movie Community pane and click "Send". A popup window will open asking you which changed files you want to send. Check the files you want to upload and click ok. Now another pane will pop up and ask you for your user name and password that you should already have from Will. Enter both and hit ok. The server will now be updated with the files you specified.

One more thing, be sure you enter your user name and password exactly as given to Will since both are case sensitive.

Hope this helps.

Please submit a report to http://www.hash.com/reports Please attach screen shots of your tools, options, svn tab, and the repo browser dialog. Also attach any other info you can think of that will help repeat this.

Thanks
