Tom Marlin has given me permission to use my collection of Tileable textures that I purchased for Zandoria Studios for texturing in the Oz project. Because these textures are licensed, they cannot be redistributed. I will be posting "BitmapPlus" materials to the TWO Library that can be used for this project.
The Bitmap Plus materials will reference Marlin Studios textures that will be stored on the SVN repository during the project and then deleted afterwards. You will be able to apply these materials to TWO Props, buildings, landscapes via the LIBRARY. And essentially we will just be referencing one copy of the image maps.
Although this is a huge stretch of the licensing agreement, Tom says it will be OK as long as Marlin Studios gets a visible credit.

Remember, you cannot use these texture maps outside of the context that I have just outlined, and after the Oz project any local copies of the images must be deleted. If you like the looks of the BitmapPlus materials that use these maps, then you can check-out the link to Marlin Studios and purchase some of their texture collections.

Outstanding news Will!

We need to 'note to self' and maintain that documentation for later when the resources are released to the A:M Community.

Note to self.
zandoriastudios
I will set it up in it's own directory. It will NOT be released to the community.

There is now a Bitmap Plus/MarlinStudios folder in the shared materials folder on the SVN. I updated the TWO LIBRARY to include these new materials.

The glitch right now is that when you load these materials, they don't automatically load the images to the IMAGES folder of your project. Martin is aware and they are supposed to look at it tomorrow...
The Images share the same(similar) naming to the material file (eg. Wood01.mat uses wood01L.jpg and wood01Lb-normal.jpg). If you manually import those images into the project, the material will work fine.

I don't know if they will load automatically after the material is applied to a model and saved. I'm sure that this will get fixed soon. They are also going to put BitmapPlus into the installer so you won't have to manually install the .atx file.

Will, you had to give me something else to play with, didn't you. These are cool.

Bitmap Plus is a plug-in for A:M written by Marcel Bricman. Save the .atx file into your Program Files/Hash/V13/Textures/ folder.

Martin said that they could include this into the V13 install, but until then, install it manually. You will love it!

Just out of interest, what format are the images that you are using with BitMapPlus and what dimensions? Well, I gather from one of your previous posts that they are jpegs but are you using a standard size?

Marcel has just donated the source for BitmapPlus to the A:M community, so as soon as we get it, we'll compile it into the V13 build.

I don't remember off-hand, Paul. These are all part of the Marlin Studios "tileable textures" collection.

Okay, Thanks, Will.
And a BIG thank you to Marcel for his generosity and very cool tools!

Started work on Tinwoodsman. Here is just a base surface that I will be putting my decals on:

Also experimenting with possible outdoor lighting for the movie...This is a skydome, one SUN light, and Ambient Occlusion...
[oops, posted in the wrong thread]
Paul Forwood
Wow! Very metallic!

Did you say sky dome AND ambiant occlusion? I thought AO was a replacement for a skydome.

Anyway, Tinman is looking great!
zandoriastudios
not a skylight, a skydome--a hemisphere decalled with a sky image (set to flat shaded, 100%ambient,cast shadows=no,cast occlusion=no,cast reflections=yes)
Paul Forwood
Ah, yes! Thanks.
