dotProject is so slow for me. I have cable modem at home and a T1 at work. Glacial speeds at both locations. Is there anything to be done about that?

Specifics please. Will has some ideas to try, but I'd like to know what we are talking about here.
For me it takes about a minute to find and change a task, here at hash, and its was even bearable over dialup at my house last time I tried it.

Ah this should be temporary if it is what I think it is.

We'll be able to test that theory here in a few minutes. When the process that is being the hog is between jobs.

horses held.

Seems like it is back to the speed I was used to. (aprox 8-12 seconds for view project with production\animaiton\act1 expanded)
What kind of times are you seeing now.

Will is working on something we can try. But I'd like to know what exactly we are talking about here.

Thanks

It seems faster now. I know 'seems' is a crappy word for this kind of thing, but it's all I got for now. Before it would hang for a while or the browser would just give up. That isn't happening right now, so that's an improvement.

Tested Will's sever change and the current server, both over dialup, and I get almost the same results.
only a few seconds slower that at Hash Inc.

Just over 12 seconds for view project production/animaiton/act1 expanded.

I think it will speed things up to move the scenes into their sequence folders.
I'll try that tomorrow if I remember.

I did some sql tuning and it should be a several times faster now. Let me know.

Now that is noticeable. Good job!
