Hey All,

I am currently setting up to animate the two balls bouncing across the screen exercise for the bootcamps. I want to be able to make the balls rolls as well, but I have found that the ball model that I am using which I downloaded from the Bootcamp page only rotates from the end and not in the middle. Is there a way to correct this and still maintain the ability to squash and stretch or is there another model that I can use. I was going to just setup my own ball model to use but wasn't sure how to setup the sqetch control that is with the current model that I am using.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,

There is another ball model somewhere on the forums---I can't seem to find it.

He's 'Mr Ball' I believe if you wanna search, but I gotta run.

I'll try and find him in my Hard Drive when I get back---

There are many ways to tackle this on your own.

My solution would be to add another bone as a child of the squetch bone (bone1) and place it's start in the center of the ball. Then assign all the control points on the ball to this new child bone.

Now when you squish or stretch the ball it will affect the child bone of bone1 and not the mesh itself.

If you then rotate the child bone around it's axis, you will not loose position when you squetch the ball.

I went ahead and modified the 'ball.mdl' file I had. I wish I had thought of that before I started my bootcamp as it would have made some parts a lot easier.

Anyway... here you go.
