OK I got a simple question...Is AM powerful enough to make something along the lines of FFVII AC? I know that would take an EXTRAORDINARY amount of time and skill. But all I want to know is Is it possible?

Is AM powerful enough to do it? So far I am very impressed with AM even though I have not bought it yet. I know I can make other killer anime characters but I want to know if the sheer quality and awesome-ness of FF7 is possible. So what do you think?

Here are some pics so you got an example of what I want.

So tell me what you think.

I know it will cost an arm and a leg unless Ido it myself...and then it will take me a good lifetime to do...but all I need to know is "Is it possible?"

Possible? of course!

Doable by one person? ... wow... if you mean even a short film with characters of that quality, you'd better get started so I can see it before I retire! ohmy.gif

Seriously, if you want to make FF7 characters, are you shooting for toon render, near photo real like the pictures you posted or something in-betweeen?

If you have never worked with Animation Master before or any other animation software, I would STRONGLY recommend you go through the lessons in "The Art of Animation Master" that comes with the software. You can also view video tutorials of most of the lessons from Hash's site. There is a forum section just for new users to help them through these lessons.

Once you are comfortable with the basics in A:M, you will want to make sure you have a storyline. You can build all the characters you want, but without a story line and some story boards to direct your animation, you will be creating models in chaos form.

You really need to nail down basics on your scenes and make lists of things you need (main characters, props, vehicles, sets, effects, etc.) and begin to build your 'shopping list' for each scene.

THEN you can start modeling things that are the same in each shot (main characters, sets, etc. ) and start blocking your shots.

I'm not trying to scare you off, but you are suggesting an enormous task for one person. Take it slow, learn the software first, then start diving into simple scenes.

Good luck with all your animating endeavors!

Don't forget about Noah Brewer, his renderings are of this kind and he even has a 2 to 3 minute videos of Bubble Gum Crisis anime 3D he did entirely on his own.
MMZ_TimeLord
Like I said, 'Short Film', which is usually more than 2 to 3 minute videos.

Anything more than a clip is going to require a lot of work. Yes, it's doable, I'm just saying it's a big task for one person.

Just look at all the people involved in the TWO project. And that is nowhere NEAR the photorealism that Noah is shooting for.

Yeah I know how ong it wil ltake as I said in my original post I understood all the factors involved a great deal. I am a web/sotware designer. I know how time consuming large scale projects of quality are.

But like I said I just needed to know if it was possible....gotta keep my options open for the future.

Will I ever make something like that? Probably not but I like to know my limits and potential before I start a project.

Now I just gotta check my resourcesand decide how to go about doing this.

i wouldn't be surpised i've seen pictures with the quality of ffvii:ac.shure it would take a while beit'll happen eventualy.

Possible on AM? Possibly. I wonder what programs were actually used to create the FFAC movie...

Having used both the programs in question. Yes its very possible.. and for my two cents I'd rather do it in AM than the one they actually did it in ;-)

A:M is capable of doing ANYTHING you want, if you have much time, much skill and even more practise even something like Final Fantasy The movie or the adventchild-animations...
I think that can be said about nearly any full 3d-app so.
But you will have more fun with A:M because it is just more intuitiv, very productive and just fun to use with a high-quality-output.

I agree completely, and if you plan on doing something like advent children then try to get as much help as possible and a monster machine to make rendering time as quick as possible. All that is really required for this is a LOT of patience/practice, and of course A:M happy.gif

i dont know for sure so i could easily be wrong, but the way things are they probably used maya to do lots of the animation and modeling and stuff like that

someone please come in and correct me, im interested in knowing
the_black_mage
i think it was this thing called "white engine", thats what they are using for finalfantasy xiii. but i'm 100% shure its not any american software.

Hash A:M to produce something similar to Advent Children?

-Stylized photo real character design?
check

-cloth?
check

-hair?
check

-mechanical modeling?
check

-fire, explosions, slicing entire buildings in half and summoning behemoth?
check

-water?
....um...
Hash A:M doesn't have a water simulation feature .... yet!
However, someone was clever enough to create a 3D paint program for A:M... something that was said to be very difficult.
So then, which clever person will produce a plugin to simulate fluid and flames?
Anyway, there are work arounds.

So, is A:M powerful enough for Advent Children?
You bet!
Is your computer powerful enough for Advent Children?
Better take a look, before you get started.

And if you happen to get a budget for such a project, you can always go over to the help wanted section of this forum (hint, hint).

Just to offer encouragement, someone managed to produce a 30 minute anime, using A:M, and they did it all on their own. Does anyone remember the name of the movie? The main character was this boy who was actually a cyborg and he lived on the streets and could seriously kick butt.

(note: if you look over here

the next upgrade for A:M will allow for multi-threaded, multi-core, multi-CPU computers to use their full power when rendering. Definitely time to save up for my next god-computer) :-)

The name of the movie is, "HARUWO" and the name of it's creator is, Shao Guee.
