We're only a couple weeks away from starting character texturing. Who's up for it?

Are we talking procedurals and if so is Enhance AM and DarkTree Simbiont allowed?

I really liked Colins work on the Witch...which isn't even really textured yet. Nice and clean.

"Simbiont," certainly. We just made sure that was Mac-compatible, and it's available to all A:Mers. Only the PD "Enhance AM" materials though, (I don't know what Richard's redistribution policy is: maybe it covers this?) Hundreds of people will be accessing the models, so all of the ingredients need to be freely available on SVN.

Would we be responsible for uv-mapping? I can work miracles in photoshop, but I'm not that great at UVs...
Edit: Props I can UV map pretty well. Characters, not so much...

I like doing hair maps (length, density) if that is needed here. Do I have to upgrade for this?

Yes to both. Nice work...not sure about the forehead "studs" though.

Martin has talked me into helping out with the art and textures. So I'll be signing up to texture some of the characters in Act 1.
I will try to set a standard and help everyone else do the same.

Glad to see you back on board. Can't wait to see what you can do with them, I'm tired of looking at greyscale models.

Hey Will, nice base there. Is that decaling or Bitmap?

2 bitmap plus materials for the burlap. then just surface properties for the eyes.

Cool! My first impression is that the brows and nose are separate and shouldn't have that texture. Also, eventually some dirtying up would finish him off nicely.
And why is the inside of his mouth lit up? Is it just that there's no shadows. If so, can we see him with shadows?

One thing that I was thinking about as I looked at all of the different groups and materials on this model is that we NEED to get a lot of people moving on making MATERIALS that we can just drop on these groups, and use decals where it really counts. There are So many models that it is going to be a nightmare to try and decal and UV map to get all of the different surface properties--especially with all of the characters, extras, buildings, props, etc.
We need to build up a huge library of materials that we can use on the garments and odds and ends. I noticed that Simbiont is now built in, so Everybody that has Dark Tree that can start posting materials we can use--do it!!!
