I'm new to A:M and still looking in to it's features.
Looks great!

I have access to mocap files that are output as animated nulls (heirarchy).
Is it possible to pull them into A:M (as is) and use them to drive/animate a figure?

Can these animated nulls be modified from the shape of the human actor to a cartoon character with different proportions in A:M?

Thanks in advance!

In my personal experience, I purposely made the proportions way off balance once and discovered there is quite a bit of leeway.
Unless there are different types of mocap files that I'm not aware of, there is no need to change anything with the mocap file. You'll just need to constrain the nulls to the models bones. A tutorial by Will Sutton http://www.zandoria.com/motioncapture.htm

Thanks Markeh,

My problem is that the data that I have (from Syntheyes) doesn't come out as regular mocap data. The software simply isn't set up to output it's data in a BVH or FBX format. It just comes out as keyframed nulls.
Those nulls have keyframes on everyframe... and I'm wondering if that will work differently than mocap data.

It will look the same... but how to have the animated nulls drive the bones is another thing.
I'll read that tutorial that you sent and see if that speaks to this problem.

Hmmm... kinda quiet.
Any one have experience with the Mocap features of A:M?

I've seen the great video demonstrations in the gallery section. Any treads or outside websites on A:M and motion capture?

I found this by searching the forum with the words "motion capture"
