Jim's Ozma Sketch:

Been working on the old girl for a while so I decided it was probably time to post again. Here's what I've got so far. I still need to add some eyelashes and the flowers to her head ... some arms, a cape, and some feet would be nice too. Have we definately ruled out the use of simcloth? I was playing around with it for her dress and was actually able to get it work ... sort of. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Wow, Kevin! You have made a beautiful job of the splining!
Excellent model!
That nose seems to hark back to Elizabeth Montgomery in 'Bewitched'.

Edit: I wonder if those hooks might be a problem around the mouth?

Hi Kevin!

You use a wonderful splinemanship! ohmy.gif

Keep it up,

Wow Kevin, she's beautiful so far.

Looking at the drawing and the splines, I'm a little worried about the width of the mouth and the number of splines on each side of the mouth! At full smile the mouth is going to be really stretched and the lower cheek area is going to be really bunched.

Cheers

Beautiful Kevin!

No, not you, the model wacko.gif

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll go ahead and make the update to the nose Bob...

You might be right, any animators have an opinion?
cosmonaut
Ok, here she is, post surgery ... I also added the cape and capped her hair. Now onto the arms. Any other comments on things I need to address Jim or Bob?

Hey Kevin, is this model completed yet? Has anyone been assigned to rig her? I have no problem doing it if no noone else will.

It sure seems like a lot of excess splineage above the corners of the mouth. Someone's going to have a tough time getting those all to move smoothly as the mouth goes thru its motions.

No one's signed up yet that I know of, I figured you'd be the one doing the rigging. I'm trying to finish her up today since I finally have enough time. I'll get her to you tonight...Question on the dress/cape, are we using simcloth or will you be rigging those with dynamic constraints? If so any opinion on how much splinage to use? I've currently got quite a bit there since I was playing around with simcloth but let me know if you want it reduced...

Yeah, it was a bit much (I had been following Osipa's book a little too much). I think I've already fixed this, I'll post another pic showing the updated splinage (on the wrong computer right now).

Don't worry about the splines in the dress/cape, I could always reduce them if I need to. I will rig with dynamics, but I'm hoping simcloth will be used in the end.

Me too.

How are you doing with this model?
cosmonaut
Sorry Mark, I really meant to finish her up last weekend like I said, but soon after I replied all hell broke lose with Bob quiting and I was kind of waiting to see how things settled out. I've also been working on some hair shader programming and I haven't gotten around to modelling much in the past week. I'll try to get her done tonight and approved by someboday (Martin???). She really just needs a few tweaks to the top half of her dress to make it more cloth-like so it shouldn't take too long.

Kevin
mtpeak2
No problem, take your time. I was just wondering how it was going, that's all.
cosmonaut
Well, finally got around to (mostly) finishing her up. She still needs the flowers in her hair but I figure the they can be added later since they shouldn't really need any rigging. Here's what I've got now (note that her hands/feet/teeth were "borrowed" from lady goodbody so I could get her done quicker). I tried to reduce the number of splines around her mouth, if it's still a problem let me know. Anyway, once some approves her (???) I'll send the model off to mark for rigging.

Kevin

Looks great Kevin.
zandoriastudios
consider her approved, Kevin--send her to be rigged!
