Based on an informal polling of the NYNJAs, we're leaning towards the Monday, January 16th slot at noon. Those of us with day jobs are encouraged to call in sick, that we may maximize our time spent basking in Mr. Colin Freeman's warm glowing warming glow.
Please note: if anyone would prefer a 6:00 meeting instead, please post to this thread and state your case. As always, it's majority rule around here.
If you live in the New York/New Jersey area and haven't attended a NYNJA MUG meeting yet, now's a great time to start. Don't miss out on all the free food, hands-on advice and big-screen tutorials in Dolby 7.1 surround!
As always, the Luckbat loft is available for gatherings, but if somebody knows of a central Manhattan location, I'm happy to defer.

Man, I should pay more attention to the calendar. January 16th is MLK day, so that Monday's a holiday for most of us anyway.
So, noon it is. Sorry for the confusion, and we'll see you in a month, Colin!

I'll be there with bells on. Can you send me an email with the directions to your place Lucbat. I'm at the Time Square Hilton, I'll probably take a cab to your place and catch one back later unless you know a better mode of transit.
Should be fun.

The address is
135 Plymouth St., in fabulous Brooklyn, apartment 208. [More detailed info in
this thread]
You could definitely take a cab, especially if your company's paying, but I, personally, would take the F line. Just walk one block over to Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave) and hop on. The train ride downtown is under 25 minutes, which is a lot faster than a cab would be, I expect. I'm at York Station.
Since some of the other NYNJAs arrive via Penn Station, which is where your hotel is, you may even find yourself with an escort or two.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Wow...it's been a loooong time for me. Count me in. I remember the original NYHUG back in the day. Glad to see we have a new one! Hey, D-Bo, I plan to call Duke and see if he can make it, too!

Sadly, I cannot attend...

I was called into a contract negotiation for Monday afternoon. I'll be tied up all morning prepping. Sorry! I hope to make the next one. I was so excited to attend this one...I hope to make up for it.
Thanks everyone!

Ah well. That's how it goes. There'll be more meetings to come, don't worry.
We often hang out until well after dinnertime, so if you should happen to finish early, jump on the F line and join us!

Sorry you were sick, Dennis. You missed a great time with Colin, I'm afraid. We had five people total, with our time divided among sharing anecdotes, watching animated shorts, critiquing each others' work and eating the chocolate-covered marshmallows that Colin bought.
But don't worry, we'll have another meeting soon. Who knows, maybe we can recruit more celebrity guests in 2006!
