Full Version: Importing camera action

I have two versions of a scene, one very, very detailed, complete with particle trees, etc., and the same thing with proxys to speed up the process of animating the camera through it. All is fine and the timing is perfect. So, I go to the camera, left click and export that as an action. Then I go into my final scene, import the action, and drag it onto the new camera...but it won't let me. I did report this back in the last version (12o), and they were working on it, but looks like they did not get it into this new version (12p). I'm missing a huge deadline because this isn't working (which it used to), and it takes forever to animate the camera by hand in the detailed scene, even with particles off.

Anyone know of any workarounds til this is fixed?? Can I bake or export the camera as a model and import it into the scene?

Thanks,
Greg

Open the project/cho(s) with a text editor and copy/paste the action data.

Hello,
I think you already tried this, but there is an easy way to transfer you camera data:
1. Load your Final_Cho in PWS
2. Load your Proxy_Cho in PWS
3. Delete the camera in the Final_Cho
4. Drag your camera onto the Final_Cho icon
5. Delete your Proxy_Cho
6. Save your Final_Cho with Camera or your Project.

Best regards,

Alain

Nope, hadn't thought about trying that. I didn't know you could drag a camera from one chor to another.

And for the suggestion of pasting the camera data into the cho file, that's another good one.

Thanks guys.
