I'm going to start on the cow form Act1 Sequence1 this weekend. Here are some pics from the storyboard, and I'll have an official sketch from Bob later.[attachmentid=11697][attachmentid=11698][attachmentid=11699][attachmentid=

Here's a model from another project that I'm going to base it on.

I've finally made some progress on the cow. I had a little trouble sticking with the rotos since the front and side weren't quite consistent. Have I taken it the right direction?

Fantastic AniMattor! I really love your style (I love the rabbit you did too)! The caricature is perfect, all I can say is that I can't wait to see that udder jiggle tongue.gif (soft body dynamics?)
JTalbotski
She's hilarious! You've definitely got the right direction.

Keep going.

Perfect! Nice simple spline layout too. He might need another ring around the length of his body. You're probably going to do it anyway. Just a small point....it's a cow with udders right? Then it can't have horns too. wink.gif Unless in Bob's world......

Female cattle (cows) can have horns also.

Yes and quite significant ones at that: (Rwandan cows)

I'll consider myself now educated.

Do you mean another ring running up and down in her mid-section, or running length-wise?

I'll proceed then. I want to tweak her ears a bit, and work on the hip-bone protrusion a little...oh yeah, I need a bow-bell, too. and the tail end.
KenH
From neck to buttocks. Where the big gap is at the side. You could probably hook it off at the base of the neck.
AniMattor
a bit more progress. Mostly just tweaking proportions. Especially in the face. how do the eyes look? I think they could get the range of espressions in the sketches.[attachmentid=12283][attachmentid=12284][attachmentid=12285][attachment
id=12286]

Bob, does the posterior rumpus still need beefing up?

matt
Zaryin
That cow is great in my opinion. It looks like the eyes are good to me. She'll be a big mooooovie star. (couldn't help it smile.gif)
JTalbotski
That's one divine bovine! Love it!

Jim
KenH
Nice work Matt. The bell looks a little large compared to the sketches.

I just noticed now....only two "tites". Not that it makes much difference but it looks odd now I see it.
AniMattor
The udder is not flipped yet. Only half is there. I'll leave the cowas she is. I need to finish the inside of the mouth still, and then I'll send it down the road to the rigger.
Kamikaze
Send her out to pasture, thats where the riggers are........Great lookin Cow there Matt

Lovely cow... really. I am sure my dairy farmer cousins would approve...

They don't see them as... that cute... but still....

p.s. As a child my cousins let me stand on the field as the cows were brought in... I was in the path of the "stampede" and screamed like Faye Wray (or Naomi Watts) as they laughed at the "city boy".

Learning about the electric fence is another story...

I've been out of power due to an ice storm for a few days. The cow should be totally done by tomorrow. I need to add a tongue and maybe tweak the teeth a little. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

matt
AniMattor
Cow is done. I changed the way the horns attach to the head and it looks much more "cow-like" now. I also put in a tongue. the teeth are simple, and I can do more detail if I need to. The tail is made to accept a few cookie-cut maps to make it look stringy. if the mapping is done differently I can change it.

The model is attached so the rigging can get started. laugh.gif

I may be off the forum for a while. Merry Christmas to all!

Have we had any progress on rigging the cow? It's required for Animation in Act 1 and that is starting next week..... David (itsjustme) are you still rigging it?

Cheers

I'm not finished yet, I've been helping Mark get the bipeds ready for the animation tests that I'm assuming start Monday, David. My rough guess is that it's halfway done, there were a couple of things that I was mulling over...I'll try to bang it out in the next day or two. Sorry about the delay, it's been a lot of things at once lately.
