Here are three samples you can look at. A realistic bounce (no squetch), a classic bounce as taught in Richard Williams' book and a slightly more involved character bounce (more a jump than a bounce).

Loop them, Watch them, frame through them, try to duplicate them.

Ask yourself... where does the squetch happen? where does it not happen? how long does the ball contact the ground? what is the squetch doing during that time?

And...the big one... how much does it move from one frame to the next? (it's never the same).

This is just the vertical motion. What will happen to the squetch as horizontal motion is incorporated?
