Just checking in to see if I have the basic proportions down OK for the turkey that pulls the cart in the Winkie village as I am only working from a side on view.
Cheers

WooHoo!
Can't wait for Thanksgiving!
Looks... okay... I guess. I am not use to seeing them standing.
p.s. I was prepared to read this thread and get all defensive about the movie project... interesting thread subject.

It's coming slowly but surely. If there is a need to rush it through I can probably have it completed this weekend (baring issues with hair/feathers)

I'm running way behind on the project plan and this model due to travel at work (tripping to Sydney to train new staff) and other 'disasters' (blew the cooling system on my 25 YO car and no spare part available - not even the wreckers - just spent the entire weekend stripping the engine, learning some hard soldering/brazing then putting the engine back together again - and I'm no mechanic!)
Anyone want to take over this model?
Cheers

Stick me down. I've almost got him done anyway what with my tinkering.

Sorry to hear about your auto misfortunes, David. But don't worry about this project, deal with real life first.

Almost finished. He's just got patches for feathers. I'm not sure what to do with the cart. I may have to move the arms. They're either too wide or too low when I try to scale it. Is this ok? Or will I connect the tether to the arms with chains?
He's standing at 6 foot 5 inches.

You could try making the cart "arms" bend in a step like way to attached to the turkey harness above the turkey's "hip" joints.
Not direction, just an idea.

Try to tilt the cart a tad back so the arms point a bit up. Will that make any difference? Hard to explain, so I've found an image on the "all mighty google":

I'd recommend a similar (slimmer line) version to a standard yoke (as used in Horse and Cart)

Eh? Is that a proxie? I'm still working on your new design. The one I posted was the first design just to have it all together in the one thread.
I'm just finished the new one and I'll post it here in an hour or two. You can use which ever one you prefer.
Also, I imagined the "Turkey" to be about 6 foot high (Or the same size as the human riding the cart....about 4 feet). IMO he looks abit paltry to pull a cart of the size in the above image.

hi Ken
Pretty funny, I assumed you were turning it back in you said you were "snowed under" and left the latest version ,No thats not a prozy its the real deal Ken.Your turkey looks great too .So now we are loaded with turkeys.Incidently in this world things dont have to seem logical. Little undersized turkeys can pull oversized carts, wait until the hays on it it will look even funnier. When I compared it to the scarecrow it seemed like another movie ..maybe "attack of the gobbler monsters"
Have a great day

I was thinking the same... And with those oversized leggs I think it looks more like an ostrich than an turkey. But I love the model anyway

I like to think of it more as a wingless oshurkey.Found mainly in the plains of new Jersey

They look great! Once they are textured or feathered they will look like they have folded wings anyway.

Perhaps Ken's giant turkey can be what the small indentured-servant-turkey runs into that causes the abrupt halt to the action & results in Woot tumbling head over heels? (I think he runs into a wall now? or am I remembering something different?)

Well duh, Thanksgiving was last week!
Ok, horrible joke. Great job you two, the design is a great caricature of a turkey Bob. It's like a genetically modified turkey/ostrich
If we don't end up using both we should discreetly put one in the movie as an in joke.
