G'day
in your tutorial on ABC
section17 says
Spin your view a little (hit T and drag) so you can see the difference between front and back. This might be easier in shaded mode (keyboard 10) We're going to draw a spline continuing the leg spline across the belly. Hit A, click on the front center spline, click on the next spline, lastly click on the front leg ring cp, ending your spline. Do the same thing from the back.

now am i uderstanding this correctly that i just press A once and then click on each spline and end on the leg CP?

now doing this all i end up with is one CP on the belly spline.

what you say and do, im wondering is this a new feature in AM, since im only using V7.1L and clicking A and then a spline only creates a CP on the spline, i have to add CPs then make a spline and connect them manualy.

thanx
John

Version 7.1L? Wow, thats a bit.... old!

In the last several versions of AM, the 'a' key puts you into "add" mode while shift-'a' puts you into add lock mode. If you go to tools->customize, there should be a bit telling you about current keyboard assignments. Check and see if add-lock is shift-a. I am pretty sure that is what you are looking for.

To complicate the matter, some time ago, the concept of "stitching" was introduced. (From a recent post by Rodney - "NOTE: To maintain curvature of a spline while connecting another spline to it hold down the SHIFT key."

you think thats old, i still have V3

A adds a CP and shift A is add lock, so now you mention stitching, thats something im not familiar with in V7.1 so i take it thats what the tut was talking about, cause when i applyied a spline/CP the curvature of the spline im joining to changed.

so ill now take it as a new feature of the newer versions smile.gif thanx you

john.
