Alonso (or anyone who knows),

Do you know when these boot camps (i.e. Grande Finale) would need to be done to participate in TWO? As I mentioned before, I am doing a course "Drawing for Animation" which is taking up a lot of my time, but I will shift my priorities if it is needed to ensure that I can work on TWO. Thanks.

TWO will be starting on 1 january. So, if you have them done before then great. If not, I'm sure you can still slot in later in the year.

I have been trying to find that out for myself as well. In the general movie forum there is a post by bob The director of TWO a link is below.

http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18068

It is unclear to me as to what level of experience is required and when we need to have our demo reels in by and even what ver. of AM is required. Martin post any skill level? Bob post any skill level? But If I can not turn AM on then what help could I be? rolleyes.gif (being sarcastic)rolleyes.gif I have been trying to following the posts without losing sight that I need to work as much as I can on improving my skill level. Bob asks for volunteer animators to sign up with him. Seeing no one is replying to his thread I assume people are Private messaging him which I have done a couple of weeks ago. I explained my situation / skill level and that I am currently working on the Boot camp to prepare for TWO. I suggest you do the same and get your name in at least. He states any skill level and no one is going to be left out in his post? I hear in another thread that animating will not start tell early 2006 then Bob announces we could be starting is 2 or 3 weeks ohmy.gif I realize that with these types of things things will be changing day by day and I don't want to slow things down by posting these questions. I have taken the stance that I am working as much as I personally can to get ready and let the other stuff take care of itself. I understand you are involved in a drawing for animating course. I would not fail that for this IMHO but rather offer to do rough drawings for TWO maybe you can work it into our course if you have the choice of chosing any assignment or hand it in for extra credit? They might be needing our help now? just a thought.

Have you heard for sure what ver. is going to be required? I currently have 11 and I am wondering if that would be sufficant for animating for TWO?
KenH
v13 as it will have the svn data management system built in to it. Get your coppers ready.

Edit: Usually, that means if you have the v12 cd (witch), you can still use up to v13.5 and so participate. That's going by previous years but maybe this year might be different......

Thanks for the info guys. I'm planning to upgrade Jan. 1 anyways, so that's not a problem.

Mark, I did send a private message to Bob, so hopefully I'm on his list. He didn't respond to me, but maybe that is ok. Did you get a response from him?

I will definitely continue with my course. Our next section is animation principles, so I will just be sure to spend some time implementing what I learn in my boot camps.

There seems to be general confusion among non-fellows on this project. I know Ken put together an awesome FAQs on the Wiki. But I think we need to know more about what is expected of us. Jan 1st is not that far away, and this is such a large undertaking. I just feel I need to be a bit more oriented.

I wouldn't count on that. If you had said v12.5 I would agree (there is no such thing this year however). v13 and v13.5 (if one is released) will require the new v13 CD (not yet released.)
Added: The v13 Beta will run into March of 2006 according to Martin. (See below)

I also am no authority on the matter though.

V13 will be required for this project because the file formats have changed to accomodate the Group Project software. (V13 will run on the 2005 CD until March.)

Several things need to happen before we can publicly announce the exact operation of TWO. There are a number of items that are close to maturity:
1) New body rig, called "Squetch"
2) New face rig, (we don't have a name for it yet)
3) Participation contract
4) Complete animatic
5) Main model construction

There are also several things that need to be well defined and started by Jan 1, 2006:
1) Voice actor recording
2) Music
3) Ancillary models
4) Bookkeeping

The Animation Directors will also be organizing their efforts. This will all take until the end of the year.

Well, that clears some things up. I now know about where you guys are in the process. Thanks for the update.

Yes, I agree with you Mark. This is an amazing opportunity. I especially like to see the whole process unfold before us. Thanks again to Martin, his team, and all the talented hashers for creating such a great opportunity!
