Full Version: Bootcamp and Apprentices
Hash, Inc. Forums > The A:M Exchange / Resources / User Groups > User Groups / Projects > Animation Boot Camp

I have created a page on my website with links to the Animation bootcamp exercises, my attempts as well as links to the lessons that Frank Silas has put his AM Apprentices through (and my attempts at those exercises) for those who are interested.

Tutorials - Bootcamp and AM Apprentices

If anyone wants me to post the project files for the bootcamp exercises then let me know. Sorry I can't post the projects for Franks Lessons as the content is protected...

Cheers

If you can that would be a great thing if your bandwidth can stand it. wink.gif

I hope I can get your permission to link to your webpage from The Art of Animation:Master exercises area. I've been debating a similar page on my site to host 'The annotated Art of Animation:Master'. Since it's more of a personal extension of TAoA:M it might work better from my own site. Linking to the Bootcamps would be great for those that want to add more to their TAoA:M learning/exercising efforts. The chapter that touch on traditional animation and the 12 Priniciples of Computer Animation would definitely benefit from the Bootcamps.

Thanks for this effort and thanks to Alonso for the Bootcamps! smile.gif

That should be OK Rodney. The new website has a 1Gb bandwidth so it should be able to cope biggrin.gif

Also thanks should go to Frank Silas for the AM apprentice Exercises (I've linked to his website)

With the Hash movie approaching I would image that the online training programme(s) will be hammered by those who have any asperations of participating. Perhaps people should start thinking about joining the programme sooner than later as these skills won't be gained overnight!

I'm thinking that there might be 3 levels of training - Level 1 (Intro into AM) being the current TAoA:M, Level 2 (Base level) being the Bootcamps (Animation and Modelling, Materials (currently it's own forum)), and Level 3 (Intermediate) being the Apprentice Programme (as Mentors become available).

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone else want to contribute project files/resources to this?

Cheers

That certainly sounds good to me. I've been thinking of adding the titles Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced to the tutorials in the Software Tutorials Forum but that might have to wait for a moderator.

I'm not sure exactly how this would work as we aren't trying to keep people out of the Bootcamps. I like people to be free to move between the TAoA:M and Bootcamps as they feel the need. In other words... whatever it takes... we need to animate! smile.gif

I like the basic idea though.

Edit: ...and thanks to Frank Silas who was probably one of the first to welcome me to the A:M Community. Thanks Frank!
