Rogelio,
I like it!
I think the small ball should shoot out from under the big ball just a little bit sooner though. There doesn't appear to be anything present to keep it in place as long as your current shot has it.
Fun stuff!

Congratulations on taking the plunge into animation!

Right now the bouncing action isn't entirely plausible yet but there are some easy things you can tweak to make your bounces stronger.
The classic formula (because it really does work) is :
-a stretched frame with the ball just touching the ground
-1 squash frame
-if its a slow bounce you can have a second more squashed frame
- a stretch frame with the ball already off the ground and on it's way back up.
remember that the ball has been accelerated because of gravity; it's traveling its fastest when it hits the ground, so it really has no reason to linger. A character like a frog might do that, but that's a different exercise.

Thanks Rodney and Garcon(not sure if I spelled that right, sorry if I did)
Rodney, I see what you mean. I was having trouble getting the squash and stretch just right, I'll tweak with it later tonight. Thanks for the suggestions.

But it still has the soggy bounce, and the stretch is still not happening in the right places. which is keeping if from being a bouncing ball.
Use the formula. It's not my formula, it's been around for 70 years.

Hello Garcon, sorry for the misleding, I did not do any changes yet I just posted the first one in Quick time. I did make the changes you and Rodney suggested I just am not finished, other things get in the way. Hopefully I will have something over the weekend.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions

Hey Rogelio,
Looking really good so far. I agree that the yellow ball's bounciness is not consistent with it's squash. To squash at the speed it does makes me think that it would not bounce back as high. Actually you've done a really great job of making it feel very rubbery. The reason that putting a squashed frame right after a stretched frame works so well is that the large contrast gives more visual impact to the viewer. Another thing to watch is that the rest of the bounces the squash is happening when the ball isn't touching the ground, remember that it's the ground that forces the ball to squash out, so without touching it can't squash. The camera shake really sells the weight of the large ball, but if you didn't have the shake it wouldn't be as obvious. I personally would put a tiny little bounce after landing. If it's going to roll, it should start right away, as the falling momentum would turn into a little traveling movement.
Great work so far, just a little more polishing.

Thanks Alonso, I tried to fix all the incorrect squash and stretch sequences. I also tried the timing you suggested Garcon. Tell me what you think
Sorry it is not Quicktime.

The yellow ball bounce still seems a little off. The major advantage of Quicktime is that it can be stepped through frame by frame. It looks like the squash starts before the actual impact. Look at you animation from the side and make sure that your squash does not start until the frame that you impact the ground. Then you need to check that your keying doesn't give you a drift that causes the squashing to start earlier.
The heavy landing and interaction with the ball looks pretty good.
Keep at it!

Hey Rogelio, I have Comcast; how were you able to load AVI? They told me They don't support AVI files at Comcast!

Thanks for the comments Scott, I thought something wasn't flowing right with the yellow ball, I just couldn't figure it out. I'll check what you suggested.
Dahr, all I did was upload the file through the comcast.net page in the online storage page and then selected upload, chose the file and that's it. I was always able to load avi files, never had a problem.
