Just bought a new subscription and activated on my Mac Pro...with OS X Mavericks. The software doesn't run.

Crashes with huge error screen.

In windows you can set a program to run with "Compatibility settings" for previous Windows versions.

Does Mac have any sort of accommodation like that?

I was looking for that, being a former long-time windows user but...Nope.

Apple expects developers to recompile to accommodate changes in new OS versions.

I found that by installing v15 I was able to get A:M running and able to save out my file I was modeling so not a total disaster but annoying. Not sure why the newest doesn't work, but a few versions back runs. That will work for now.
